Retirement is dead. I don’t believe in the concept of retirement. You work and work and work then you finally know what you’re doing and you’re contributing at a high level then you stop because you are at a certain date on a calendar…it makes no sense to me.
Retirement is a thing of the past. I do get the allure, you basically have enough money to do whatever you choose to do (or not do) for the rest of your life. I want that for you tomorrow though, not when you are 67 years old or some weird arbitrary age. Retirement to me is when you have reached Financial Liberation. When are a financially independent person able to make your own choices, schedule, work, etc. You can retire today if you are liberated financially, no matter your age. Retirement to me is also the choice to work, it doesn’t always mean not working. There is a reason a lot of people die shortly after retiring from work. Once you stop contributing, what else is left to do?
